General practitioners to assist in having a healthy population

[FBC NEWS] General practitioners have been reminded to assist people in achieving their full health potential and at the same time take responsibility of their own health.

Speaking to the general practitioners at their annual conference in Suva, Health Minister – Jone Usamate reminded them of their contribution towards a healthy population.

“Assist people to achieve their full health potential through provision of preventive, curative and rehabilitative services through a caring and effective health care system and that’s where your role together with the people in the ministry the role of general practitioners is absolutely fundamental in this.”

Usamate says now with talks underway to merge the Fiji Medical Association and Fiji College of General Practitioners, it will be a major boost to have more quality medical experts to assist in nation building.
